A shoe that was eight years in the making, the GEL-KINSEI™ OG sneaker that debuted in 2006 is making its awaited return from the ASICS archive with its authentic construction.

Uniting Japanese heritage and craftsmanship with modern mechanical design, this silhouette draws inspiration from a samurai’s armor – shielding the body, while enabling it to move freely.

The angled GEL™ technology cushioning unit in the heel references the shape of the samurai’s curvaceous katana sword to better attenuate the severity of shock upon heel strike. Presenting TRUSSTIC SYSTEM™ technology under the sole’s arch to improve stability, this feature also lessens the shoe’s overall weight.

Resurrected with visible evolution and a contemporary design, the GEL-KINSEI™ OG sneaker allows you to wear this shoe as a heritage icon that's still technical even by today's standards.

Foot Type: Normal-size arches.

Push-Off: You experience even distribution from the front of the foot.

Considered Injuries: Getting hurt is less likely due to effective shock absorption, but not impossible.

How Your Foot Contacts the Ground: Your foot lands on the outside of the heel and then rolls inward, absorbing impact on the body.
